Google Workspace for Education Training

As a Google for Education Partner, ICT Solutions can provide educators with an understanding of how Google Workspace is the right environment for better learning outcomes. It's aimed at educators for whom Google Workspace is relatively new and who are looking to implement solutions to classroom problems right away, as well as save time and be more efficient at collaborative working.

This training will explore Google Workspace through hands-on activities that will introduce educators to Google Classroom, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and other tools that can enhance a classroom and school environment.

One-hour online session:

This session gives you an introduction to:

  • Google Mail
  • Google Docs, Sheets and Slides
  • Google Classroom including a demonstration of the key features to get you up and running and collaborating with your colleagues and students
  • Google Drive for creating and storing files and documents

Two-hour twilight session:

This session covers everything in the One-hour session but in person and in more depth and includes the following:

  • Google Mail - Sending, receiving emails, creating calendar events
  • Google Drive - Sharing files
  • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides - How to create, edit and collaborate on documents in real time.
  • Google Meet - Overview of Meet including video conferencing, chat, and screen sharing
  • Google Classroom - Overview including creating and managing classes, assignments, and grades
  • Google Forms - Overview of Forms and Quizzes and how it interacts with Google Classroom and other applications

Half-day session:

Hands-on session delving a little deeper into Google Workspace. This session covers everything in the two-hour "Introduction to Google Workspace" training plus:

  • Google Workspace and Accessibility - How Google have integrated accessibility and highlight inclusive features that assist all learners in reading, writing, maths and communication. Covering Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet
  • Google Classroom - Deep dive into Google Classroom and how it can be used in the classroom for assignments and assessments
  • Google Meet - Demonstrating key features, such as breakout rooms, polls, and Q&A

Full-day session:

As above, but with additional focus on

  • Chromebook use in the classroom
  • Covering each Google Workspace application in detail, with a view to each participant becoming a Google Educator Level 1 certified
